Brake Controller is Not Working on a 2006 Ford E450 Motorhome with Factory Port
Question:
Hello I purchased a tekonsha brake controller with a 3035-p adapter cable for my RV, I have the pre-wired plug and they DO connect properly however MY RV plug has all 6 pins and the 3035 only utilizes 4 of the 6 pins, as a result i am not getting power to the controller. do you know what the proper adapter cable should be. Thanks You recommended 3034P to another question but it has a different coupler which DOES NOT connect to my RV.

As brake controllers will only use 4 wires, two of the 6 ports will not have any function. With that being said, you most likely have a fuse out, causing the lack of power to your controller. A quick way to test this will be to use something like the Circuit Tester Kit # PTW2993 and see if there is power going to the bottom left port on the vehicle plug (picture included).
If you are not getting power, you most likely have a fuse out. I was able to find the location of 2 fuses that should get you back up and running, but this is the factory fuse boxes. These are most likely still in the same place, but motorhome manufacturers can move them sometimes. I did include pictures of the fuse boxes and which fuses to check as well.
If these are still good or if replacing them does not get the controller up and running, let me know and we can try something else.
As a side note, the # 3034-P is designed to be used with a 2009 to 2011 E450, so this is definitely not the correct one for your 2006.
