Recommended 2-Step Kwikee Steps To Replace Damaged Steps On 1991 Monaco Dynasty 38' RV

Question:

I have a 1991 38foot Monaco Dynasty diesel pusher that I have had since 2004, I believe the step frame is original, I have replaced the step gears and motor within the last couple years and all that seems fine. Lately the steps dont retract barely, all of the linkages on the frame are worn and some of the arms are slightly bent so things are not moving smoothly, I removed the pin from the step gearbox to frame linkage and manually tried to retract the steps and there is to much resistance. I want to replace the frame and the measurements from your website are close but not exact, so I want to be sure that they will work. any help would be greatly appreciated. My step width outside of pivots is 25 1/2inch so that seems correct, my step treads are9inch x 24inch with a 8 3/4inch to 9inch rise between the two which seems different than what I am looking at. My existing mounting plate is 24 1/4inch x 14 1/2inch which is close but not the same and I am sure I could make it work somehow. I cannot find any numbers on the frame but the power gear is PN1800709 rev of date code 14c291 hopefully you can help me get the correct one. Thanks

I reached out to my contact at Kwikee and I do have a replacement option for you, but since your RV was made in 1991 your only option is going to be a complete replacement with a new motor, control unit, magnetic switch, and step frame. The reason for this is your steps were made before Lippert purchased Kwikee so they have no information on your steps and your motor/switch ETC will not work with the new frames.

Since you were looking at a 2-step frame I recommend going with the Kwikee Electric RV Step Complete Assembly - Double - 32 Series - 24" Wide # LC372261 as they are the closest in size to your current steps. This step has an overall width of 25-1/2", and has a mounting plate that measures 23-3/4" wide x 11-3/8" deep. You may need to do some modifications to get this to fit your 1991 Monaco Dynasty 38' RV as this is not the exact dimensions as the step you currently have.
