Recommended Flat Towing Equipment For A 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500
Question:
I need a complete setup to pull my Chevy 1500 4x4. My motor home has a 2 inch receiver. Want the bracket up for the truck also. Im new to pulling a truck , but not a large trailer. Im going to get a braking system after I get this tow system handled. Thanks

To flat tow a 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 it will need to be 4WD with 2-speed transfer case that has neutral and 4-low settings. You'll also need a tow bar, tow bar wiring kit, base plate, braking system, and safety cables to safely tow your vehicle. I have the following recommendations for you below:
Tow Bar: Roadmaster Sterling All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount - 2" Hitch - 8K Item # RM-576. This tow bar has a non-binding design that allows you to release your vehicle at any time, anywhere - even on unlevel ground and large hookup radius makes connecting a breeze at any angle, even if your vehicle isn't perfectly lined up with your RV.
Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Since the Sterling All Terrain tow bar has the 6 to 7 wire cable all you'll need is some diodes and 4-wire to install the diodes. I recommend the RoadMaster Nighthawk All Terrain and Sterling All Terrain Towing Combo Kit # RM-9284-2 which will come with the diodes and wiring and all the extra accessories you'll need for your tow bar. The wiring and diode kit will splice into your vehicle's wiring to signal using your tail lights instead of having to run magnetic lights to the rear of your vehicle.
Base Plate: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms Item # RM-523199-5. These direct-connect brackets are virtually invisible, easy to mount and remove, and they eliminate the need for a quick-disconnect crossbar on your tow bar.
Braking System: I recommend the Brake Buddy Stealth Supplemental Braking System # HM39530. This system offers fully proportional braking with a system that never has to be removed, replaced, or reset. Actuator installs out of sight and remains virtually invisible when your car isn't being towed. The controller also works as a trailer brake controller and there is a charge line kit included that will keep your battery charged while towing.
Safety Cables: The tow bar I recommended above has safety cables but they don't work with the direct-connect base plates I recommended above so you'll need the Blue Ox 7' Safety Cables - 7,500lbs - Qty 2 Item # BX88196 instead.
