Recommended 8" Tire With load Range D Rating For Wheels With 4.80-8 Tires Currently Installed

Question:

So i was about to checkout on some 8” tires because my jet ski trailer will now have 2 skis on it I need to go up from the current 4.80-12 I have and also I use 4.80-8 load B,I understand the old b 8” is much too low but that is all I had to use. Now seeing the 8” last longer then the 12 and sit lower I was going to get the strongest 8” I can to support what will now be 1200lbs for both skis combined but didn’t add the trailer weight as I didn’t know if that counts. If it does I assume it to be a few hundred lbs I could be wrong but I’d skis are 1200 trailer 300- Thats 1500lbs and I was going for the 205-60 I believe 8” load C instead of the 4.80 or 5.30 5.70 8” but the confusion is you guys said ANY 8” tire will fit a 8” wheel but in the description it says 1 tire needs 7.9” wheel and the other is only about 4.4” wide. You sell rims that state 2 different widths but say any 8,10,12” tire will fit any 8,10,12 rim?Il confused. Anyways that’s my weight I need something for this 1500lb total load and if any 8” tire will fit any 8” rim then I’ll just buy your tires and put them on my rims that currently hold 4.80-8 tires will this work?I also have 4.80-12 tires with rims so if you recommend 12” then I want the widest tire I can use on these rims I have, assuming you don’t have D range I never see them in stock i guess I need a minimum of a C range but I don’t want tires I need to inflate to 90psi that’s just too hard of a ride for my 15mile highway and local drive. Please help me ASAP as I just put the 2nd ski on trailer so now I have about 1500lbs with 1 4.80-12-c tire wich is sufficient for 1 side but the other side is still the 4.80-8-B tire wich is 590lbs,and currently there’s a a 550lb ski on that side not counting the trailers weight not included the 2nd ski wich is sitting on the 4.80-12-C side. It was an emergency I had to use what I had and all I had was a 8” B tire.

I would be happy to help!

Since you mentioned that your wheels have the 4.80-8 tires installed they are going to be too narrow to run the 205-60-8 tires you were looking at.

Instead I recommend going with the Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire - 5.70-8 - Load Range D # AM10013 which have a load rating of 1075lbs at 100 PSI so they are rated high enough for your Jet Ski Trailer, but you will need to verify the load rating of your wheels and use the lower rating between the wheels and tires. These will be slightly wider than your 4.80 tires, but narrower than the 205-60.

Also I do not recommend towing your Jet Ski Trailer while you have a 4.80-8 on one side and 4.80-12 on the other. The reason for this is the tires are pretty different in height so you will be putting extra load on the lower side, and will have very unstable ride due to this.

I included a video of the # AM10013 for you to take a look at.
