50 Amp To 30 Amp Adapter Cable For A Travel Trailer To Residential Shore Power Hookup

Question:

Is there a way to step down the 50 amp, 240 volt 14-50 outlet in my garage to the 30 amp, 120 volt plug on my travel trailer? I only have a GE 120 volt side mount residential window style air conditioner in my very small travel trailer, and right now it’s stepped down to a 15 amp, 120 volt outlet using a dog one adapter I have NOT tried to run the air conditioner using this set up. I want to run the air conditioner but not sure if I need 30 amps, or can I get away with the 30 amp to 15 amp adapter I have now? Or do I need to step down my 240 volt 50 amp to a 120 volt 30 amp?

You can certainly use the Power Grip RV Power Cord Adapter w/ Handles # CAM55175 to plug your 30amp cable running from your travel trailer to the 50 amp outlet in your house. This will more efficiently power your GE air conditioner and allow you more power to run other items in your trailer.
