Prodigy P2 Installed on 2010 Toyota Tundra Remaining On After Vehicle Shut Off
Question:
I hooked the trailer brake system up tonight with the harness provided on my Tundra, is it normal for there to be continual power to the brake system while the vehicle is turned off? The two blue lights stay on continually.

The Prodigy P2 will go into a sleep mode after between 20-30 minutes after the vehicle is shut off. After that time, the display should be blank. The amount of voltage applied to the vehicle battery from illuminating those LEDs during that period is so slight there is really no chance of your battery being drained, however you could certainly unplug the connector from the rear if you wish.
If the two LEDs remain lit after a 30 minute period, you can first try resetting the controller by unplugging the harness from the rear for 20 seconds or longer, then plugging it back in. If the problem still occurs, there are a few issues that might be causing it. Make sure that white ground wire on the wiring adapter has a good ground connection. Using a factory grounding point is best. Next, examine your trailer connector and make sure it is not damaged, dirty or corroded. If you observe any white or green corrosion on the pins, there is a chance that some of the corrosion has spread to the interior of the connector to the terminals where the wires connect. This can cause bleed-over from an adjacent circuit, like the 12-volt accessory power circuit.
