Easy To Install Brake Controller for 2021 Toyota Highlander with 7-Way Adapter
Question:
Hello, I have a 2021 Toyota Highlander with a 4 pin flat that has an adapter to a 7 round. My RV trailer is a 2021 Coachmen Apex nano that has electronic brakes. Do I need a brake controller? Can I tow without a brake controller? Are Bluetooth controllers safe? Or should it be hard wired? Please advise. Thanks

You do need a brake controller to control the brakes of our 2021 Coachmen Apex Nano. For an easy install and a great performing brake controller the Curt Echo Mobile part # C51180 would be a really great option. These controllers are perfectly safe to use and worth mentioning is that if for some reason your phone lost Bluetooth connection to it the last settings used would simply take over seamlessly until a connection was reestablish. Since typically you set the controller and leave it alone while driving this shouldn't be an issue but we have found that the connection of this controller is really strong.
You'll have to have your 12 volt accessory circuit active on your 7-way which you could do with 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 and a circuit breaker like # 9510.
