First I suggest you test the output from the 4-pole flat connector to verify normal operation of the module. You can use a circuit tester like # PTW2979 to do this testing. The video shows how to use it.

Disconnect your trailer, ground the tester to the vehicle, and test each pin one at a time. The pin for the yellow wire should carry an intermittent (blinking) left turn signal when the Murano left turn signal is engaged. The green should carry an intermittent right turn signal when it is engaged. The brown should carry a steady tail light signal when the Murano lights are on and a brake light signal when the brake pedal is applied. If the 4-pole does not provide the correct output signals then check that the white ground wire (which is part of the driver-side T-connector) is tightly secured to a clean, rust-free and preferably unpainted metal surface.

If the lighting functions are all normal, then there is no malfunction within the module. The TowReady T-One Wiring Harness, Part # 118481, only draws current from your Murano battery when a trailer is connected. So if it is operating properly then the issue is in the vehicle or the trailer. Even if there were a problem within the module itself (or within the 12V power input wire connected between it and the battery) then removing the fuse as you did would prevent that issue from causing battery drain.

Since you have had the vehicle checked by your Nissan dealer and no problem was found, I suggest you turn your attention to the trailer. Inspect the trailer wiring for signs of cracked insulation, a pinched wire or corrosion on any connectors and at the trailer lights.
