Solar Panel Setup for 40 Ft Motorhome Capable of 55 Amps

Question:

We are full timing on a piece of property as caretakers. We want to solar our 40foot 5th wheel. We have permission to put solar panels on property. My question is what do I need to power our unit like solar would power a house? Thanks

You'd need a kit with a higher wattage/amperage rating to give you a significant enough of a charge to run mostly off of them and your battery bank setup. The Go Power Solar AE-6 All Electric System with 2 MPPT Solar Controllers # 342-75011 which can provide up to 1,140 watts to your battery bank. To put that into amperage for more perspective this is capable of producing 55.8 amps which is the higher amperage rating that RVs like your 40 ft motorhome are typically designed for. These panels would mount on your roof as well.
