Some of Bolt & Hole Was Stripped Installing Curt Hitch C11419

Question:

I accidentally got one of the bolts started crooked and it cross threaded or kind of stripped a bit if the bolt. I think it also did this to the hole. Just a bit, not much. Can this be alleviated by simply using the same bolt but not crooked or should i use another bolt?

It really depends on how much of the bolt hole and bolt were stripped during the install of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11419, but to be on the safe side, you will likely want to use another M10 x 1.25 bolt.

And if the weldnut was stripped at all, I highly recommend using a tap, the 10 mm x 1.5 Tap # PTW8619.

We just want to make sure you can safely install the hitch, and the bolts will catch, allowing you the proper torque.
