Can Different Hitch Hardware be Used on Curt Trailer Hitch For 2018 Subaru Crosstrek

Question:

I misread the title of a hitch on A***** and it ended up being the earlier version and would only fit Crosstrek XV. My question is that since I have the hardware set from that hitch already in my rear subframe and cant seem to remove it without cutting/filing larger holes in my frame than Id like will the hitch assembly for the 2018 and newer vehicles work with the previous hardware set?

You will not be able to re-use the same hardware when installing the Curt hitch that fits your 2018 Subaru Crosstrek, which is the following part:

- Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13382

This hitch uses hardware that is different than the previous model year Crosstrek, and you also never want to re-use hitch hardware as it is a one-time use and re-installing any hardware could damage its integrity.
