How Long Are the Tracks on the Rhino Rack Aero Bar Roof Rack for Camper Shells

Question:

I have a 2008 Tacoma, double cab, with Leer camper shell / cap. I am looking for a rack for it to carry long stuff, and also my Thule Atlantis 1800 cargo box. The overall length of my Leer cap roof is about 54inch from the front to where it starts to slope down in the back. I see comments that the tracks can be cut to length on this model. Question on this- are there rubber or plastic plugs in the ends of the tracks that can be removed, track cut with cutoff wheel on a grinder, cleaned up, then plugs re-installed? I am not excited about cutting a hollow aluminum tube with nothing to place back in the hole. Another question- does Rhino make the same unit with shorter tracks for my application? Please send any other product suggestions you may have. Thanks!

I'll start out by saying that the Rhino Rack roof mounted tracks like the ones included in the # Y02-480B come with caps that go on the ends of the tracks that can be removed and replaced if needed and allow you to cut the track to whatever length you require. The tracks that come with the # Y02-480B are 63" long but can be trimmed down to whatever length you require; they're also somewhat malleable so you can bend them slightly to match the slope of your Leer cap.

I think this is exactly what you're looking for and there isn't a complete kit that uses shorter rails available so you'd need to piece everything together or just trim to fit.
