Timbren Suspension System Enhancement Recommendation for a 2012 Honda Pilot

Question:

Hello! I have a 2012 Honda Pilot 4WD. Honda states that when loaded with four adults, the Pilots max tow capacity is 4100# and max hitch weight is 330#. We would like to tow a Flagstaff HW25FS pop-up camper with a dry weight of 2776# GVW 3700# and hitch weight of 315#. As you can tell, we would be approaching the maximum limits for our Pilot. My question is, would a suspension upgrade allow us to do this more safely? I would like to also use a weight-distributing hitch but Honda doesnt recommend itinch although I may end up using one anyway. Is this plan feasible and safe? Or am I crazy to try it? Any information would be appreciated. Thank you!

Suspension enhancements will not give you additional capacity beyond what the manufacturer recommends, but what they will do is allow you to carry weight within the capacity of the vehicle in a safer, more stable way.

So basically in your situation suspension enhancement would be an excellent choice since what you plan on towing is within the capacity set by Honda.

The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # THROD2 that you referenced is designed to fit your 2012 Honda Pilot and would be an excellent choice to allow you to tow your trailer in a safer way.

Since Honda specifies that you do not use a weight distribution system I cannot recommend you attempt to do so. Also, a weight distribution system and suspension enhancement system could work against each other.
