Troubleshooting Tekonsha Prodigy P2 That Only Activates Brakes with Manual Override
Question:
My prodigy brake controller operates my trailer brakes with the manual slide but does not operate the trailer brakes with my truck brake pedal. Does this mean the controller is no longer working correctly?. The controller has worked for 18 years.

It sounds like there might be an issue with the brake light switch wire that's been used to install your Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885; if you've hard-wired in your controller I recommend checking the connection to the controller. If you've used a plug and play adapter like the # 3020-P, then you'll want to test the pin for the brake light relay when you press the brake pedal-if you're not getting a signal then you'll want to check the trailer towing fuses in the engine compartment fuse box.
If you still haven't located the culprit after these quick tests please let me know and I can give you a few other things to look at.
