Question:

i would like to purchase a weight distribution system with sway control but i believe the lp tank mounts on trailer hitch would interfere with top mounted chain holder is there a system that has bolt on chain holders?

For your 2007 Nissan Titan and 2012 R-Pod, I have a couple recommendations for weight distribution systems with sway control. To address your issue with your LP tank mounts potentially blocking your chain holder, I recommend the Reese Chain Hangers # RP58305. They are an alternative for traditional lift brackets that will not interfere with your trailer frame-mounted items.

You will have to drill to install, but once that is taken care of, they are easily bolted on. I have provided the installation instructions for this item.

When figuring tongue weight, you will need to take into account the fully-loaded trailer plus anything stowed behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I am including a link to our FAQ page on figuring tongue weight.

If you are experiencing mild to moderate sway issues when towing your R-Pod, I recommend the Pro Series Weight Distribution System with Friction Sway Control # PS49901. It is effective for trailers with tongue weights of up to 550 lbs and includes a weight-distributing shank. I have provided a link to the installation instructions for this item.

If your sway problems are more severe, you might be interested in the Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System with Sway Control # RP66086. It has a weight capacity of 10,000 lbs and is effective on trailers with tongue weights ranging from 200-600 lbs. It features dual-cam sway control with round spring bars.

This system includes sway-control cams, head assembly, adjustable shank, lift brackets, spring bars, lift chains, pin and clip, and all the necessary hardware. The dual cam system prevents trailer sway from occurring before it can start by forcing the trailer to stay inline behind the trailer. Please note you will also need the # RP58305 chain hangers for this system as well.

I have provided a link to our FAQ page on weight distribution and sway control.
