Adjusting The Height Of A Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch In A 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500

Question:

The health video says from the top of the tailgate. So from the top of the tailgate it must mean with it closed and my $2500 worth of hitch parts that I bought from y’all have no instructions for the height.

When determining the height of your 5th wheel hitch you'll need to measure the height from the ground to the floor of the bed (where the base of the hitch will be sitting) and the height of the ground to your king pin when the camper is level. The difference between these two numbers is what you want your hitch's height to be.

For example: if your truck bed height is 42" tall and your king pin height is 58" then you would have a difference of 16". The Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Single Jaw - Above Bed - 21,000lbs # DM8550035 you have has a height adjustment of 15-1/4" to 18" so you would just set it at 16".

I've attached the height adjustment instructions from the owner's manual for you.
