How To Determine The Correct Replacement Hub and Drum Assemblies For Trailer With 8 Lug Bolt Pattern
Question:
What size brake drums are on 8 bolt drums?

Expert Reply:
Typically trailer hub and drum assemblies with the 8 lug bolt pattern are going to be 12" in diameter.
However this is not always the case, so I recommend measuring your current drums using the included diagram to confirm this. You will also want to measure the depth of the hub, to make sure you get replacement drums compatible with the brakes installed on your trailer.
In addition you will need to confirm the bearing combination of your current hub to make sure you order the correct replacement. The easiest way to confirm the bearing combination is removing the hub and looking for the bearing numbers stamped in the face of both the inner and outer bearings as shown in the included picture of the # L44649.
If your bearings are worn to the point that you can not read the bearing number you will need to use digital calipers # PTW80157 to precisely measure your spindle in the locations shown in the included diagram.
If you can provide the above information I would be happy to confirm the correct replacement hub and drum assemblies for your trailer.
