Is The Hopkins Tail Light Converter HM48925 Correct For A 2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport?
Question:
I cant find any information, so I wanted to ask. Will this work for the Sport 3.5xs or is there something different between the sport and non-sport models? I had found some websites that said specifically not for sport model, but I wasnt sure what the differences were between them, and if theres something specific on the Sport 3.5xs that I needed to be aware of. - Thank you!

The Hopkins Tail Light Converter Kit # HM48925 you were looking at is the correct wiring harness for your 2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport. This kit is a universal kit that will get spliced into your factory tail light wiring to power your trailer connector.
It is different than what is needed for the non-sport models as those models have a harness available that will plug in inline of the factory tail light connectors, and would not require any splicing.
If you do not already have a trailer hitch receiver for your Montero Sport then I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13223 as it has a 500lb tongue weight rating and 5000lb trailer weight rating making it a perfect option for towing a trailer.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
