What Awning Is Compatible With Yakima RailBar Crossbars

Rhino Rack does make adapters so their Rhino-Rack Sunseeker Awning - Roof Rack Mount - Bolt On - 49 Sq Ft, part # RR32132, will mount to roof racks that terminate at the tower/leg, but we have confirmed they will not fit your Yakmia RailBar Crossbars. You can still use the Yakima SlimShady Awning - Roof Rack Mount - Clamp On - 42 Sq Ft. part # Y00446-2, on your roof rack. The SlimShady will clamp to your Yakima RailBar. The SlimShady is almost as big as the Rhino -Rack offering, 42 sq ft versus 49 sq ft. It also comes with the Yakima Same Key System lock cores, so you can lock it to your vehicle. In order to ensure the Rhino-Sunseeker Awning will be able to mount to your roof rack via the t-channel, you will have to purchase a roof rack that does not have crossbars that terminate at the feet. My Thule roof rack recommendation will consist of the following; Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 47" Long - Qty 2, part # TH711220, Rapid Podium Feet for Thule Crossbars - Fixed Point - Qty 4, part # TH460R, Fit Kit for Thule Podium-Style Roof Rack Feet - 3079, part # THKIT3079, and the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders - Qty 4, part # TH450400. This rack has a weight limit of 165 lbs, but most importantly, the crossbars extend beyond the towers. You should be able to mount the Rhino-Rack Sunseeker Awning on the Thule bars with no problems.
