Arm Placement & Installation of B&W Companion

Question:

What is a good arm placement for a 2014 ram 3500 short bed? How much clearance am I looking for between top of bed and bottom of trailer. And does the factory gooseneck adapter location work good for my truck?

I suggest beginning with placement in the forward position and at mid range range on your B&W Companion, # BWRVK3300, or any other hitch. Please note the linked installation video. The fifth-wheel hitch's height setting is taken by measuring from the ground to the king pin, then from the ground to your truck bed. Then subtract the second measurement from the first for the proper height setting. There should be 5-6" of clearance between the back of your truck and your fifth wheel.
