Compatibility of Fastway FA94-00-1000 Weight Distribution Kit with Blue Ox BXW40 Pole Tongue Adapter
Question:
Can the FastWay 94-00-1000 be attached to the Blue Ox Pole Tongue Adaptor plates without drilling? I learned the hard way that chain-style WDH systems will not work with surge brake equipped boat trailers. Thanks!

As shown in the provided photo, the Blue Ox # BXW4023 pole tongue adapter clamps around the trailer frame, and won't require any drilling into the frame of the trailer. The adapter will work with the Fastway # FA94-00-1000 weight distribution, but the side plates of the adapter would need to be drilled to accept the frame brackets of the Fastway system.
Blue Ox states that their SwayPro W/D systems are compatible with their SwayPro, but as you've found they don't always work very well with chain-suspended systems. The chain tension can prevent the coupler from actuating fully.
