Ground Wire Connections For a Water Heater And Battery On a Camper Trailer

Hello my name is Marc I have 2 questions 1 is does a hot water heater get grounded directly to the battery if not where does it get grounded to? 2nd question is does the battery get grounded the to the frame of the trailer?

As this can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer you will typically see the ground wires ran to a frame/chassis ground. This reduces the number and amount of wiring that is required to run all the wiring directly to the battery.

Yes the battery will be grounded to the frame on these type of campers. Often this is done as the battery on your camper is not only for powering the camper but is also tied into the breakaway brake system. This allows them to only use one battery instead of 2. It will often be tied into the vehicle charge line circuit on the camper 7-way as well.
