This will depend on what you plan to use theetrailer Hitch Receiver # e73ZR for on your 2018 Jeep Cherokee Latitude.

I recommend installing the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness # HM11142464 when you install the receiver as it can be easier to install the wiring harness before the receiver and allows you more room to run the wiring. The wiring will be required for any small trailers that you may see yourself pulling as it is what sends power to the taillights on the trailer. I also recommend having it for the convenience of using Auxiliary Lights # C53201 if your bike rack or cargo carrier blocks the view of your taillights.

A wiring harness is not required if you do not pull trailers or use hitch mounted accessories large enough to restrict the view of your taillights on your Jeep.
