How To Get Additional Turning Clearance On 2011 Ram Short Bed Towing 5th Wheel Trailer

I have the Anderson ultimate offset fifth wheel hitch but would like more clearance. Would the reese goose box with a 5in offset ball. be more clearance for my ram 11 6.4 short bed truck

It sounds like you currently have the Andersen Ultimate Connection 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch System with Adapter - 20,000 lbs # AM3200 in your 2011 Ram short bed, which gives about 3-4" of offset. If this is the case then going with the Reese Goose Box with a 5" offset ball will only give you 1-2" of clearance. This is a pretty negligible difference in cab to trailer clearance.

To get additional turning clearance your best bet will be going with a sliding 5th wheel hitch like the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Dual Jaw - 18,000 lbs # BWRVK3270. This hitch will fit the same rails as the # AM3200 but will give you 12" of clearance when turning.

Typically on a short bed truck like yours a slider hitch is recommended for the additional cab to trailer clearance.
