Can I Put Larger Wheels And Tires On My 2014 Forest River R-Pod 179 Travel Trailer?

Question:

Can I put 16 in wheels on this T/T? Also is there any benefit with doing this to replace my 14 in wheels?

It looks like your 2014 Forest River R-Pod 179 travel trailer came with 14" wheels that have 5 on 4-1/2" lug pattern along with 205/75R14 tires. There is not a real benefit to upsizing your wheel size in this application, aside from looks or to gain clearance. You may be able to upsize to Loadstar ST205/75D15 Bias Trailer Tire w/ 15" White Spoke Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range C # AM3S640DX which would be the same width as your current wheels/tires, however, it would be 1" taller. As long as you have the clearance for one extra inch in height then you will be fine with this option. To verify if you have the proper clearance, measure from the top of your wheel to the bottom of the wheel well; the recommended clearance is about 3". So after adding one more inch for the new setup, make sure you would still have at least 3" of clearance.

There are not any 16" wheels that will fit your lug pattern, but you probably wouldn't have clearance for wheels/tires that are 2" taller than your current setup anyways. I attached a demonstration video for you regarding the 15" option.
