Troubleshooting Ultra-Fab Electric A-Frame Jack UF38-944017 Not Lowering Unless Weight Is Added
Question:
When I hook up the travel trailer to the truck, I can raise the power jack with no issues. When I go to lower the jack while hooked up, it spins but does not lower unless I place some weight my foot on the plate and then it engages and once there is weight then it works fine. Its a 2017 Heartland North Trail and the jack is the Ultrafab 3502. Thank you

Based on the description you provided of the issue you are having with your Ultra-Fab Electric A-Frame Jack # UF38-944017 it sounds like the gears inside are worn and require the extra pressure for them to be engaged.
Unfortunately the gears are not available as replacement parts, so the most cost effective option would be to just keep placing your foot on the jack to lower it.
The only other option would be replacing it with another # UF38-944017.
I included a video of the # UF38-944017 for you to take a look at.
