Can Equal-i-zer EQ37100ET Weight Distribution System Be Used Without Spring Bars
Question:
Hello! We just bought our first RV and the dealership wants $958 to buy and install this hitch which is insane to me. My question is - can this be used to tow while the sway bars are off? Reason being, they won’t install the system unless I buy it there. My truck will benefit greatly having weight distributon but I won’t be able to fully install the sway bars until it’s home. Is that an option? Thanks!

You can absolutely use the Equal-i-zer # EQ37100ET without the spring bars installed. It'll be just like towing with a standard ball mount, no different.
The # EQ37100ET is rated for trailers with fully loaded and ready to tow tongue weights ranging from 600-1000 lbs (this figure should also include anything stowed in the bed or cargo area of the tow vehicle behind its rear axle).
The system includes the 2-5/16 inch trailer ball, but you'll need a 1-7/8 inch thin walled socket to install it. If you don't have one or can't borrow one from somebody, we offer them as part # EQ70-00-4800.
