Base Plate Needed for Demco Tow Bar & 2017 Equinox
Question:
We are in Powell River B.C. Canada and wonder if you ship to us postal code v8a 1r1. We have a 2004 Triple E Commander motorhome with an Excalibur tow bar on it and it has a 7 point electrical outlet. We need a new base plate for the 2017 Equinox and were thinking of a Patriot braking system as well. Also we will need the wiring kit to fit it for tail, signal and brake lights.

Since you have a Demco Tow Bar, I suggest the Demco Classic Base Plate Kit, # DM9518315 for your 2017 Equinox. This is compatible with all Demco tow bars.
The Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System, # BLU37TR is a great choice and what I recommend. This unit lets you monitor your braking system while you're driving your motorhome, so you'll always be aware that the Patriot 3 is working and functioning properly.
For your tow bar wiring, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This will use diodes to allow you to utilize your factory wiring for a clean look. I suggest the Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass, 20-Amp Mini-Fuse # RM76511 (Not needed, this just allows the flip of a switch instead of pulling the fuse) and the # RM-156-25 to get power to your towed vehicle. The charge line is needed, as this is what will allow power to the vehicle.
The last thing you will need is a high low adapter. I've attached and article to help you determine best fit for your motorhome and have linked the options for your convenience. Please note the linked product review and installation videos along with links to help articles.
