Recommended Battery Charger For Trailer Breakaway Battery
Question:
Have lithium house batteries and Progressive Dynamics charger set for lithium batteries, up to 14.5v. Do I need to change the lead acid e-brake battery on the trailer tongue?

Expert Reply:
You do need to keep the breakaway switch battery on your trailer tongue charged, but you will not want to charge it with your Progressive Dynamics charger.
Instead you will want to use the Replacement Charger for Curt Soft Trac I and II Trailer Breakaway Kits # C52025 which will get wired into your 7-way connector and charge your breakaway battery when the trailer is connected to your tow vehicle. You will wire the red wire to your breakaway battery, the black wire to the 12v power wire on your 7-way connector, and the blue wire to your breakaway switch.
I included a video of the # C52025 for you to take a look at.
