We actually offer plug-in wiring like part # C56049 for the 2010 Hyundai Sonata that will prevent you from having to do any testing or splicing. It plugs in between the taillights and the factory tail light wiring. View the installation instructions at the link provided.
If you would rather install the # C56175 hardwire kit, you will need to use a circuit tester on the wires behind your taillights to find out which function each wire carries. We offer part # PTW2993, if needed. Have a helper sit in the front of the vehicle and engage the turn signals, turn of the headlights, or hit the brake pedal as you test the wires in the rear of the vehicle. Once you have determined what each wire does, you can connect the wires from the # C56175 hardwire kit accordingly. I am including a link to a video showing a typical installation on a similar hardwire kit for you to reference, as well as a link to our wiring FAQ.
