Carrying Bikes And Hatch Clearance On A 2018 Toyota Corolla iM
Question:
Can I still open the trunk/hatchback with the bike rack loaded?

Unfortunately when any trunk mounted bike rack, including the Malone Runway Trunk Bike Rack for 3 Bikes - Adjustable Arms. part # MPG2142, is on a vehicle loaded with bikes you will lose access to the trunk/hatch of that vehicle. You can access the trunk of your vehicle if you went with a hitch offering instead.
For a hitch receiver, I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4", part 24913. It is 1 1/4" Class I hitch receiver with a maximum tongue weight of 200lbs. It will pair nicely with the Thule Hitching Post Pro - Folding Tilting 4 Bike Rack w Anti-Sway - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches, part # TH934XTR.
This rack has a tilt down mast that allow you access to the trunk of your vehicle while the rack is on your car. It has an anti-rattle hitch bolt that eliminates movement between the hitch receiver and the hitch bike rack. It secures your bike via the top tube and it has anti-sway cradles to eliminate the bikes swaying on the rack while you are transporting them. If you have a step thru bike frame or just a frame that does not have a traditional top tube you will need an adapter. The Hollywood Racks Bike Frame Adapter Bar for Women's and Alternative Frame Bikes, part # HRBA-PRO, will allow you to carry those bikes.
I have included product description links and video review links below.
