Can RAS and Timbrens Be Used Together On a 2011 Ford Ranger

Question:

2011 Ford Ranger XLT 2WD, 4.0 V6, w/ ARE fiberglass cap, 55K miles. I already installed the RAS system last week. However, in my long wait for that suspension upgrade I also ordered the Timbren part # TFRR050A. So my question is this. Is using both systems simply way overkill? The RAS seems to have improved the truck to just what I would have expected it to be. With the cap on all the, the rear end of the truck seemed to sag a bit, and the RAS has raised it maybe an inch - looks better and drives much better. Now that I need to tow and use the truck more like a truck is intended, would the Timbren help with those heavy tongue weight situations?

Expert Reply:

The RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit part # RAS2516 which is a fit for a 2011 Ford Ranger will take place of any other suspension enhancement system. It would indeed be overkill to pair these with the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TFRR050A. The Timbrens will likely not even engage with the RAS installed unless there is a very heavy tongue or load in the bed. In which case, the ride would be way too stiff and uncomfortable
