Solution For Carrying 3 Kayaks On 2012 Toyota Sienna Factory Roof Rack

Question:

I have a 2012 Toyota Sienna with a factory roof rack. My wife prefers using a j-style carrier because she feels that they are more secure and easier to use when shes on her own. So we had considered buying two sets of these Rhino-Rack S512 carriers to carry our two recreational kayaks. However, if we get a third kayak, would there be room to fit that third kayak on the roof rack if we were to get the RRS512X extension arm? Thanks.

You will want to make sure your roof rack is big enough to accommodate all three of your kayaks when they are on their sides, since that is the position they will need to be in. If you have enough crossbar length for the combined height of your three kayaks, then you can install two of the Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carriers # S512 along with the Expansion Arm # RRS512X for the third kayak.

Without knowing the exact dimensions of your kayaks and crossbars, it is difficult to say for sure if it will all fit. You will just need to measure and make sure you have enough room.
