Is Inverter Needed to Power AC Unit from RV Battery
Question:
Hello guys: Im new to the RV world. I just acquired a 1992 Fleetwood Elkhorn in outstanding conditions, but I have A/C power ONLY when connected to the grid. I read the owners manual only states that the CONVERTER charges the battery. Nothing about supplying A/C power. Is that how is supposed to work? Do I have to install an INVERTER?

Expert Reply:
Converters like the part # PD4635V only convert AC power to 12 volt to charge battery banks. If you needed the battery to power your AC unit you'd need an inverter like the # 34279948 to convert the battery power back to AC power for the air conditioner.
