How To Convert 4-Way On 2007 Ford F-150 To 7-Way Trailer Connector
Question:
I recently bought a new trailer and needed a 7 pin harness set up for the brakes and 12v on the trailer. I have a basic 4 to 7 pin adapter on right now but it doesnt accommodate braking and the 12v. I just wanted to make sure before I bought this that it will be able to accommodate the 12v and trailer brakes.

In order to convert the 4-way on a 2007 Ford F-150 to a 7-way you will need the 4 to 7-Way with 4-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. This kit is needed because it not only comes with the actual adapter but the wires and connector you need to attach the power and brake output lines required to tow a trailer with brakes. In regards to the connections, we have identified these for you in the help article below. If you don't already have a brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller part # TK90160.
There's not a direct plug-in 7-way for models that only came with a 4-way from the factory.
