Do You Have To Run Power Wire To Battery for Both 4-Way Trailer Connector and 7-Way Adapter
Question:
I have my 4 flat connected to my battery already how to I also connect the 7 round to the batter as well without messing up the battery? Bc I want to charge my pop up trailer batter while I drive. But I assume my 4 flat still needs the 12 v to go to the batter as well. Is that to many external 12v lines going to the battery? Only want the charging functionality I don’t need the blue and yellow wires. . It’s the battery with the flat 4 black wire with its fuse holder connection to the battery

In regards to installing both a 4-way and 4 to 7-way trailer controller on a vehicle, there are instances in which you must run a power wire to the battery for the 4-way and the 4 to 7-way adapter. The power wire for the 4-way is to power the module and the power wire for the 4 to 7-way adapter is to charge the trailer battery. The two power wires will not cause an issue, they really only pull a very small amount of power.
If you can provide the year, make, and model of the vehicle then I can see if there is a plug-n-play option but if not the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 119250KIT and 4 to 7-Way with 4-Way Adapter part # ETBC7 are what I recommend. They each come with power wire and fuse holders required for the connection.
