Lift Spacers For Timbren Suspension Enhancement On a 2002 Toyota Tacoma
Question:
I just bought the TORTAC4A from etrailer for my 02 Tacoma, and I have about a 2inch lift on the back, so Im going to buy some lift spacers for it. When I got the Timbrens yesterday, I noticed the retaining screw on the top metal assembly where the rubber bump stops attach is welded in place. From the video about the lift spacers, it makes it sound like a longer replacement screw needs to be bought from a hardware store. But since the original screw is welded in place, how do I replace it? Thanks

Due to the design of the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TTORTAC4A on your 2002 Toyota Tacoma the screw that would normally sit in that position is welded on as you do not have access to the head of the screw when it is installed on your Tacoma.
You have a couple options to get your Timbrens to function properly on your Tacoma. First you can drill out the welds and have longer screws welded in their place. This would allow you to use the 1" Spacers # A25723-90AH00 or 1/2" Spacers # TA25722-90P00 to compensate for the vehicle lift.
Second option is to have a raised pad installed on your leaf spring mount similar to the one in the included picture. The mount in the picture is different as his lift kit uses a different style of u-bolt plate.
