The clicking noise you are hearing in your MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent Item # MA00-07500K is the operator mechanism. Unfortunately it cannot be fixed and should be replaced. The replacement part Item # MA10-20281K-1AF. As far as the fan not shutting off, that could be the mode you have it in. There is a manual mode and an auto mode. The auto mode allows the fan to run when the temperature changes depending on the thermostat setting. Also there is a ceiling fan mode which allows the fan to run with the lid closed.
