Hatch Clearance of Yakima RocketBox Pro 14 # Y07192 Installed on 2012 Subaru Outback
Question:
I want to know if you have any feed back on the use of the Rocket box pro 14 on a 2012 Subaru outback. My concern is if it can be postioned so that the rear hatch is usable, or if it is to large for this vehile size.

To determine if the Yakima RocketBox Pro 14 will allow the hatch on your 2012 Outback to fully open, you will need to take a measurement on the roof.
If the front crossbar on the roof is adjustable, move it all the way forward, toward the front of the vehicle. Then measure from the center of that front crossbar back to the seam where the hatch meets the roof. If this distance is 45 inches or greater, the RocketBox Pro 14, part # Y07192 will indeed allow the rear hatch to open without interference.
My contact at Yakima tells me that the box should fit, but I would highly recommend measuring to be sure.
