Can a Surco Safari Roof Mount Basket Mount to the Swagman Roamer Roof Rack
Question:
I am considering purchasing the swagman roamer roof rack for my fiberglass truck topper. I noticed the crossbars come in two sections. How long is each section of crossbar? Also, I already own a surco safari cargo basket that I will be mounting to this roof rack. What mounting adapters would work for this?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Once the 2 sections of the cross bars are put together, each have is approximately 42 inches long. The one that appears longer has a smaller section that fits inside the other bar so I do not count that in the overall length. Once put together the bars are 84-5/16 inches long.
The Surco mounting adapter # SPT400 would be the closest match. The U-bolts in this kit are wide enough to fit around the 1-3/16 inch wide bars in the roof rack kit.
Be sure that you check the camper manual for the roof weight capacity and do not exceed it.
