Winter Durability of the Steps
Question:
We are in snow, salt, sanded roads and cold for a good part of the year. Are these harsh winter element factored into the durability of the extendable Hitchmate? Does it need to be removed during the winter months?

I posed your question to the manufacturer who stated, "Salt and sand can certainly degrade steel by causing abrasion which can lead to rust. Keeping the step clean of debris with gentle soap and water is recommended to avoid damage."
