Pilot Brake Controller Screen Goes Completely Blank Randomly

pilot brake controller blanks out completely no dot no numbers then all comes back on never noticed controller blanking out, all wires and harness checked out, even ran seperate trailer ground

It sounds like you have a issue with the power coming into your Pilot 2-6 Brake Electronic Brake Controller # 80550.

First I recommend checking the power fuse or relay that sends power to your brake controller. If your brake controller was hardwired in you will need to follow the black power wire to the battery and check the relay/fuse. If using the factory plug n play wiring you will need to consult your owners manual for their location on your vehicle. You can also run a separate fused wire from your battery to confirm if the problem is in the vehicle wiring.

Next you will want to check the white ground wire portion of the controller. Again you can run a wire directly from the controller to a good chassis ground to confirm if this is where the issue is in the wiring.

If you are still having the issue occur the controller itself is damaged and will need replaced.
