Will the Thule Sidekick Cargo Box Fit on My Factory Crossbars on My 2017 GMC Adadia

Will it fit my 2017 GMC Arcadia SLT. It has factory installed cargo bars and I purchased the crossbars from the dealer, the fit the rails exactly and are not adjustable. I measured the cross bars and the separation is 28inch from middle to middle. The is the upper limit for the Thule Sidekick,could this be a problem. Are there any other hard boxes around 8-10 cuft you would recommend. I make a round trip from Florida to Massachusetts once a year.

If your crossbar spread from center bar to center bar is 28 inches on your 2017 GMC Acadia, the Thule Sidekick - 8 Cubic Feet will fit your bars. Since the crossbar spread required is 23-5/8 inches - 28 inches, it should fit your crossbars. Another thing to consider when buying a cargo box is the required dimensions of the crossbar width/height as well as if you cargo box will allow you to open up the rear hatch on your 2017 GMC Acadia. For the Sidekick, the maximum crossbar diameter it will fit is 3-3/4 inches. As far as if it will allow you to open your rear hatch, there needs to be at least 51-7/8 inches between the center of the front crossbar and the line where the roof and the hatch meet.
If you want a cargo box that has more compatible requirements with your vehicle, I recommend the Inno Box 320 Rooftop Cargo Box - 9 cu ft - Matte Black # IN94FR. The Inno Box 320 will fit a crossbar spread of 24 inches - 39 inches and will fit crossbars with a width between 1 - 3-1/2 inches and a height between 3/4 - 1-3/8 inches. In order to open the rear hatch with the 320, there needs to be at least 12 inches between the center of the front crossbar and the line where the roof and hatch meet. The 320 also comes with 4 anchor points and 2 straps to let you tie gear down inside the box. It also includes a locking mechanism to deter theft to keep your cargo safe during those round trips from Florida to Massachusetts.
