Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 1993 Honda Del Sol Convertible Behind a Motor Home

Question:

Is this the part that will best fit my car and what tow bar will I need to purchase to get a trouble free fit to this part? Also do you know if I will have to make any modifications to my cars front finder in order to tow it behind my Motorhome? The motor home has a two inch ball receiver. Also how hard is it to install the wiring part for this car. Thanks in advance for your help .

I will be happy to help you pick out the right parts to flat tow your 1993 Honda Del Sol behind your motor home. But first, you will want to consult the vehicle owners manual to determine if it can be flat towed and if so if there are any special requirements.

Base plate kit # 508-8 is the correct kit for all models of the 1993 Del Sol. You will need to trim the splash guard on the bottom of the vehicle (not visible unless you are down there looking for it) to fit around the base plate brackets once installed.

For a tow bar, the most popular option is the Falcon 2, # RM-520, which will be an easy installation to the base plates and making connecting the vehicle to the motor home a relatively painless process.

In addition to the base plates and tow bar you will also need safety cables # RM-643, a lighting solution, and supplemental braking system.

For lighting, the easiest solution is to use a magnetic kit like # RM-2120.

Most states now require a supplemental braking system on the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Even Brake # RM-9400 proportional system. It will apply the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the motor home is braking. this is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.

I have also included some helpful links on flat towing for you to view.
