Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller Wiring For a 1999 Ford F-150
Question:
In the instructions, I found a note concerning Late Model Ford wiring that states if using the Red Wire with Green Stripe I have a 1999 Ford F150 and you use the manual slide control, it will destroy the unit. The thing is, my ford had factory tow wiring and I bought your factory wiring kit with the brake unit. This is supposed to be plug and play. Do I have to be worried?

I do not see any reason to be concerned with the installation of the Tekonsha Voyager Trailer Brake Controller # 39510 on your 1999 Ford-F-150. Since you have the factory wiring for the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter 3035-P the correct wire has already been terminated to the factory plug.
The red wire with green stripe will only come into play when you are hard wiring in a brake controller.
