Tips On Finding Cold Side Wire Of Stop Light Switch In 2021 Ram 1500
Question:
Im seeking to tap into this cold side wire to install a Trailer brake controller, but I cannot find any exposed wiring near the brake pedal. Do you happen to know of any diagrams or the like that would display its location?

I do not have a diagram that shows the correct wire to splice in to connect to the cold side of the stop light switch on your 2021 Ram 1500, but to find the correct wire you will need to look at the brake pedal, and find the switch. Once you find the switch you will need a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to find the correct wire. There may be a wire loom or tape of the wires that you will need to carefully remove to get access to the individual wire.
With that said, your 2021 Ram 1500 has a factory trailer brake controller port underneath the dash so you do not need to splice in a controller.
For example if you have a Tekonsha controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 you will need the plug-in adapter # 3024-P. This adapter will plug directly into the controller and then into the factory trailer brake controller port underneath the dash of your truck.
If you can tell me which brake controller you have I would be happy to recommend the correct adapter.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
