Brake Controller For a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
Question:
I have a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup year 2014. I have a 7 blade tow connector installed in my truck , all the pins work except the blue wire pin from the electric brakes. I did a one-by-one test with a digital multimiter and they all have power except the blue of the electric brake. check the fuses, everything is fine what do you think it is? I dont know if I have electric brake controller installed in my truck. About two weeks ago I took my truck to the dealer for a new battery and they installed a new brake and a brake vaccum pump, do you think my problem is related to that? Let me know what options I have . I dont know if I have to install an electric brakes or I have electric brakes and is damage soo let me know how to provide power to the blue wire , like I said before all works except the blue . Please reply asap , Thanks.

If you do not have a brake controller the blue wire located at the 5'oclock position on your 7-way will not have power.
I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 for your 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. This will allow you to control the trailer brakes on your trailer. The controller is proportional so once you set it the controller will self adjust for light or severe braking situations. It is also customizable and will allow you to set up to 5 trailer profiles and has a diagnostic feature to help diagnose issues in your braking system.
The Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers # 3016 will plug into the factory harness under your dashboard inside the wiring connection box. The other end will plug directly into the Prodigy P3 making the wiring plug and play.
If you find that your truck does have a brake controller you will want to ensure that it is installed properly. Let me know what controller you find and I can help you with troubleshooting and testing it.
