Can a Short Bed Truck Tow a 5th Wheel Trailer With a Reese Goose Box?

The Reese Goose Box # RP85FR can be used with short bed trucks. There is something to keep in mind, however.
With a short bed, your turning clearance will be reduced. You can add on an offset ball, like the B&W # BWGNXA4685. This is specific to the B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck hitches though, so you will need to confirm which brand and style hitch you currently have to find one that will fit properly. This will help, but you will still need to be very cautious when making tight turns.
It should be noted that the best options for a short bed truck will be a sliding fifth wheel hitch, like the Curt # C16541 (which will fit standard base rails), or a bolt on style fifth wheel to gooseneck adapter, like the Andersen # AM3139 (which has an 8 inch offset).
