Can The Malone SeaWing Kayak Carrier Handle Boats With A Skeg  

Question:

My particular Kayak, a Eddyline Caribbean 12 has what looks like a full length skeginch running from the front to the back. So the hull is not a rocker design or a design that makes a smooth Uinch shape to the hull. I am trying to figure out if these Vinch mounts flex when tightened down at all so as to allow for some space for the skeg to ride higher then the base of the carrier. If not the boat could be loose and might be free to tilt from side to side when mounted. Please have a look at the Eddyline web site and check out the hull and let me know what you think. The Malone SeaWing Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs - Rear Loading - Clamp On, part # MPG107MD, will have some give to it. Many kayaks are designed asymmetrically with regard to the keel and the skeg. The carrier has two independent mounts to take this situation into consideration.
