Can I Protect The Thule Evo Raised Rail Feet From The Elements
Question:
Hi folks, I will definitely appreciate any info you can provide! How do you weather-proof and/or protect a Thule foot pack from salt, rain, grit etc. that it will encounter when driving during messy winters where there is a mix of snow, sleet, road salt, sand, grit, dirt...? Is there a cover or do we use some sort of protectant, gels, silicone etc.???

The Evo Raised Rail Feet # TH710401, is a foot that has a lockable cap that protects the bolt that secures the towers to your raised rails. If you have the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders - Qty 4, part # TH450400, you can secure the rack to your vehicle via that locking cap. That should help protect your towers from the elements. This foot also protects the bar and foot interface because the bars connect to the feet from underneath the bar, shielding it from the elements. With regard to treating your rack with protectants for winter weather I have never felt the need to do anything extra to protect my rack. But do keep in mind, if you are not using your rack in the winter you can also remove your rack from your vehicle and store it during the winter months.
I have included product description links and video review links below.
